Sharing is caring!

I have received information and materials from JOHNSON & JOHNSON CONSUMER, Inc., McNeil Nutritionals, LLC Subsidiary the makers of LACTAID®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post.

One of my favorite things at this time of the year, is to curl up on the couch with a hot beverage and watch one of my favorite Christmas movies. Or football… or a cooking show. Point being, I like to curl up on the couch with my favorite hot beverage of choice. Those same hot beverages keep me going through present wrapping, decking the halls, and online shopping. However, prior to this, I always had to rely on dairy based creamers or creamers that would induce migraines. Not really something I want to deal with during the holidays, you know? So I’ve taken it upon myself to go searching for my own delicious holiday coffee drinks at home.

In need of a tasty coffee drink but don't want to run to the coffee shop to get it? Try one of these delicious DIY coffee drinks. #ad

DIY Snickerdoodle Latte

One of my favorite cookies is the snickerdoodle. And really, how can you go wrong? Delicious cinnamon and sugar, with a slight tang thanks to the Cream of Tartar. I could eat those all day. One of my favorite local coffee shops makes an amazing snickerdoodle latte and I knew that this was something I had to try at home.

This easy DIY latte combines classic flavors from the snickerdoodle and pairs it with Lactaid milk for no discomfort.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • sugar (to taste)
  • 8 oz milk
  • 8 oz coffee

In a small saucepan, combine vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and milk. Whisk together over low heat until combined and warm. Once you have reached the desired temperature, add to coffee and enjoy!

DIY Eggnog Latte

Another classic holiday beverage is eggnog. And believe me, I love eggnog. But my stomach didn’t always agree with me. And since I’ll take any chance to get my coffee in as well, this super easy eggnog latte hits the spot and helps keep me going.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • sugar (to taste)
  • 8 oz milk
  • 8 oz coffee

In a blender, combine milk, spices, and sugar. Pour mixture into a small saucepan and heat over low heat until warm. Once you have reached your desired temperature, add to coffee and enjoy!

Now, while eggnog and snickerdoodles definitely scream holidays to me, nothing is quite as quintessential as hot chocolate. And for me, I love a good cup of Mexican hot chocolate for the added spice.

DIY Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix

This is so easy to make at home and would make for a great DIY gift as well.

To enjoy as hot chocolate, add 2 tablespoons of the dry mixture to 8 oz of milk in a small saucepan. Whisk together to mix and continue to heat to desired temperature over low to medium heat.

To enjoy as a mocha, add 2 tablespoons of dry mix to 8 oz coffee and enjoy. Or you can make it half and half (hot chocolate and coffee). Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired.

    • Dairy Envy peaks during the holiday season when those sensitive to dairy can’t enjoy classic holiday meals and family recipes that use dairy without facing discomfort later. LACTAID® Dairy gives consumers the opportunity to combat Dairy Envy and experience the full joy of the holiday season.
    • Since it’s 100% real dairy just without the lactose, swapping LACTAID® Milk into your holiday recipes keeps their taste and nutritional benefits the same, while making sure that even your guests with dairy sensitivities can enjoy.
