Tips and Tricks for Content Creation

As the old saying goes, content is king. And even in the ever changing world of blogging, this couldn’t be more true. Regardless of any changes that Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter may make; content will still be the one ring to rule them all. Yes, how you promote your content may change or the methods that you use my be different from blogger to blogger. And what works for one blogger may not work for another blogger. But what is consistent and the one common thread that we all have is content. As bloggers we are the primary content creators, and often times we wear many additional hats when it comes to the business of blogging. Content creation is just one of the things that…

Are you looking to start a garden at home? I'm sharing my tips and advice for planning a garden.

How to Start Planning a Garden at Home

In the Spring of 2015, we ventured into the world of home gardening. We had wanted to start a vegetable garden in the backyard and possibly branch into other plants or create a butterfly garden. I have many fond memories of growing vegetables with my mom and hope to share this experience with Squeaker and Sweet B as well. Unfortunately, we didn’t prepare enough so we were unable to grow much of anything. That and our backyard still needed some work done. While we ended up going with a container garden last year, this year we’ll probably do a mixture of raised bed gardening and container gardening. I want to share with you, some of the steps that we took and places that we looked…

Try this quick and easy variation on egg salad, with just two ingredients.

Two Ingredient Avocado and Egg Salad

Recently, I had tried out a recipe for deviled eggs (one of my personal favorite appetizers) and instead of using mayo, the recipe called for avocado. Now, I’m a huge fan of anything with avocado in it so I thought- why not give this a try. The end result was a tasty treat so I had to reason that if it worked with deviled eggs, it should also work with egg salad. Same process, just different application. I love egg salad sandwiches and yes, I’m one of those people who will eat egg salad on it’s own. I also love avocado and again, I’m just as happy to eat the avocado right from the skin with a spoon. So combining these two in a simple,…

Is it really possible to earn money from a blog? Absolutely! My blog makes up the majority of my monthly online income.

Monthly Online Income Report: February 2016

Okay, in the case of wanting to be fully transparent and to show how I’m earning money as a stay at home mom who’s making the transition to being a work at home mom; I’m going to start publishing monthly income reports. Because I eventually plan on branching out to other endeavors that won’t be directly related to the blog, I’m calling these online income reports instead of blog income reports. Granted yes, the bulk of what I earn (to this point and until I establish my other endeavors) will be through the blog. But, once I have everything else sketched out and established, I’ll start adding that in as well. So, all of that out of the way- let’s dive in! And yes, though…

Children's birthday parties can be pricey and the costs may add up quickly. Here are some budget friendly birthday party ideas to help keep your party in check.

Budget Friendly Birthday Party Ideas

After planning a first birthday party on a budget (and subsequently a second on an even tighter budget), I think we’re on track to keep these birthday parties as budget friendly as possible for as long as we can. One thing that will change is when Squeaker is in school and the whole concept of class parties or having more friends come into play. But, even then, I hope to stick with budget friendly birthday party ideas. I’m already thinking of possible themes for Squeaker’s third birthday and maybe she’ll get more involved in the planning process when the time comes around. In the meantime, we could also start saving for her birthday or at the very least, start planning about three months ahead. 7…
