Sharing is caring!

Ah Mother’s Day… the one day of the year that mom is supposed to take off and enjoy. Except, not so much. Yes, I would love to tell you that Mother’s Day means a day of relaxation or doing something that I really want to do. But in reality, it’s not and I’m perfectly okay with that. I always say that I just want some time to myself for Mother’s Day.

But that’s a lie.

My kids, after all, are the reason I celebrate Mother’s Day.

Not that I don’t honor and appreciate my own mom- I do. But I’d rather show that 365 than just one day of the year. Sure, I made her handmade gifts and bought her cards. But now that I’m a mom, I understand what it’s about. To that extent, I would say that I don’t want anything for Mother’s Day.

And as a mom who also happens to be a blogger, and maybe there are some things that I wouldn’t mind getting.

what this mom blogger really wants for mother's day and what i'll probably get instead

Let’s be real here. I’m a blogger. And as bloggers, we chase pageviews, we chase social media followers, we chase money. It’s a seemingly endless game of chase. And I enjoy it… most of the time.

Some days I’d rather not chase and just get back to basics. It’s also on those days that I remember why I started blogging and I remember how much I truly do enjoy blogging.

It’s also on those days that I start daydreaming about my blogging empire and what I’d like to see it become.

A check to Google Analytics brings me back to reality quite fast and then it’s back to the drawing board to figure out a new scheme for post promotion so I can get back on the blogging hamster wheel and chase.

So what do I, as a mom who blogs, really want for Mother’s Day?

  • Simplified traffic methods
  • Endless bank account to fund the numerous courses and eBooks so I can set the foundation for my blogging empire
  • a blog redesign

But what will I probably get instead?

Well, with T&J, I might get a plant. And that’s awesome. Because as their unofficial step-mom, they really don’t have to get me anything. Sure, I’m in their lives and I love them. But they aren’t my kids and I’m not their mom.

With Squeaker.. I’m almost on my own there. I don’t expect for Kyle to buy me a Mother’s Day card or a gift and say that it’s from the toddler. I’m okay with doing a Mommy and Me craft instead. In fact, I’d rather go that route because it’s also creating memories.

Even if I don’t get any of that for Mother’s Day or do a Mommy and Me craft; I’ll still be happy.

What else would I really like for Mother’s Day?

Spending time with my family. Sitting outside, blowing bubbles.

Maybe indulging a little with some Butter Chardonnay by JaM Cellars

 jam cellars butter chardonay

Oh yes. Butter Chardonnay.

This wine melts in your mouth. It’s 100% Chardonnay, grown in sunny California spots with just the right touch of cool from the coast. JaM Cellars uses great winemaking traditions to make easy-to-love, everyday California and Napa Valley wines. “JaM” is actually short for John and Michele, second-generation vintners who own and run JaM Cellars. They have a passion and gift for making exceptional quality wines that everyone can enjoy. Made in the tradition of Californian winemaking, the fruit has juicy, ripe, stone fruit and baked-lemon aromas.  Cold fermented to the perfect, rich creaminess and aged in our own blend of oak, gives this wine a lovely, long, vanilla finish that’s uniquely Butter!

Find Butter Chardonnay at your local grocery store with the JaM Cellars WineFinder:  http://www.jamcellars.com/Find-Us

And then maybe after I enjoy a glass (or two) of this easy to love, creamy Butter Chardonnay; I’ll work on my blog.

For Mother’s Day, I hope to just wake up. I’m sure I’ll get nothing but whine (get it whine).

For Mother’s Day all I want is sleep! I would of enjoy a nice wine, but I am pregnant. I’ll have to keep this wine in mind and go check it out. AFTER the baby, of course. I can’t wait!

I’m really not sure what I’ll be getting for Mother’s Day this year but I hope I can at least get to have a nap! lol If not, I’ll settle for getting some take out and watching movies with my husband and son. 😀
