Pets Mini Tot School Unit

Pets Mini Tot School Unit

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Mott’s®. The opinions and text are all mine. #SecretLifeOfMotts As we continue our incredibly lazy and informal tot school over the summer, I go with Squeaker’s lead. Some days she’s definitely more interested in sitting down at the table with me to do something and other days, she’d rather just play. And though we do try to limit screen time, sometimes things on TV will catch her attention. I use those moments to plan for a mini tot school unit that we can spread out over a few days or just do a few activities in the morning. “The Secret Life of Pets © 2016 Universal Studios. With the warmer weather finally settling in, we’re planning to take more of our activities outside. Whether that’s just getting outside to play or taking some of our sensory and learning activities outdoors; we want to make the most of these sunny days. It also helps to get outside because it means longer nap-times for her. Squeaker enjoys being outdoors, probably more than I do, but that’s because I have seasonal allergies to deal with. Still, I don’t want that to…

Z is for Zebra Mini Tot Pack + Activities

Z is for Zebra Mini Tot Pack + Activities

We’re doing another informal summer tot school with Squeaker this year. Last year’s attempt at Mommy Camp didn’t get too far. But that was also due to poor planning on my part. Lack of interest from Squeaker also contributed. This year we’re taking daily walks (weather permitting), playing outside, having plenty of indoor picnics and tea parties, building with blocks… and just enjoying the moments. Along the way, if she learns something- great. But it’s not the focal point of summer for us. Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in an A to Z of Animals series with some amazing kid bloggers. We’re up last with the focus on the letter Z and we chose the Zebra for our animal. Be sure to check…

Free This Little Piggy Tot Pack

Free This Little Piggy Tot Pack

One thing that I’d like to explore with Squeaker are Nursery Rhymes. We do quite a few of them already and while Itsy Bitsy Spider remains as one of her favorites; she also enjoys This Little Piggy. Maybe next year, we’ll spend a month or two exploring nursery rhymes a little bit more but in the meantime, I’m going to start building up resources. The mini tot packs will usually have the same aspects/components to them though I’ll change it up on occasion so it’s not always the same material. Keep reading to see what you’ll get in the This Little Piggy tot pack! This turned out to be quite a cute little pack and I think, once I have more nursery rhymes pack done,…

Free Printable Preschool Schedule for Daily Use

Free Printable Preschool Schedule for Daily Use

If you are preparing your toddler for preschool or are wanting to structure out your classroom, be sure to grab this free printable preschool schedule.  When I created the My Daily Schedule printable pack, I had no idea as to how popular it would become. I had created it as a free alternative to PECS, which is the primary system that my autistic daughter uses for communication at school and occasionally at home. I hope, one day, to make my printable schedules and other printable resources for autistic kids more compatible with PECS products. I’m not trying to compete with that because that’s their dedicated focus and for me, it’s just filling a need at home. Which is why I wish I’d been able to create…

Free Printable Chore Cards: I Can Help

Free Printable Chore Cards: I Can Help

Hoping to get your child involved in household chores? Pick up a free copy of my printable chore cards for kids.  I had created a free printable chore chart before and I think that it served it’s purposes well enough. But, I also wanted to offer another option in the form of just chore cards so that you could use them in whatever way worked best for your family. I’ll update the original chore chart with new cards as well. This pack includes both indoor and outdoor chores. It comes in black and white without text so some of the chores are a little more open to interpretation than others. If you are looking for more resources to create a visual schedule or to increase your…
