As we continue our incredibly lazy and informal tot school over the summer, I go with Squeaker’s lead. Some days she’s definitely more interested in sitting down at the table with me to do something and other days, she’d rather just play. And though we do try to limit screen time, sometimes things on TV will catch her attention.

I use those moments to plan for a mini tot school unit that we can spread out over a few days or just do a few activities in the morning.

Of course, Abby decided that she needed to supervise for part of this since we’re doing a pet themed unit.

We’re also trying to help Squeaker with good nutrition choices and we’ve been fairly lucky, I think. She’s just starting to drink juice though it’s still in moderation. For our activities at the table, Mott’s® for Tots Juice Boxes and Mott’s Applesauce Pouches were our pick.

We used our Pets mini pack to plan out our activities for the morning:

  •      Coloring pages
  •      puzzle page
  •      Find the cats page

But, before we got started with that, I wanted to make us some easy frozen treats for later. And when I say easy, I mean incredibly easy!

  1.     Fill a paper cup 3/4 full with juice of choice (we used Mott’s for Tots Mixed Berry 64oz & Mott’s for Tots Apple Juice Boxes)
  2.     Optionally mix in fresh fruit like blueberries, sliced strawberries, sliced grapes, or sliced bananas.
  3.     Decorate your cups with stickers (we used cats for the berry and dogs for the apple)
  4.     Secure plastic wrap over the top. To make ice pops, cut a small slit in the top of the plastic wrap. Insert a pop stick.
  5.     Freeze for 4-5 hours for slush or 5-6 hours for pops

Once those were in the freezer, we set out our activities for the morning:
