Very Clear Signs that your Family has Outgrown your Home

Sharing is caring!

When you originally moved into your home, you may have thought that it felt plenty big enough. In fact, you may have even felt like it felt too big. The main thing that you have to remember here is that families expand and that the dynamics of things change too.  If you aren’t sure if the home, you are living in right now is suited to your needs anymore then this guide will help you to find out for sure.

You Need a Second Living Space

If you have an open plan home then you may feel as though it is ideal for toddlers. When you get older however, you may find that you end up not wanting to share the same space at all. You may find that you don’t want to end up sharing a single living area and that you can’t agree on what movie to watch. You may also find that if you have kids who are interested by certain musical instruments, that there isn’t enough private space for everyone to practice properly. If you have friends over, having an adult conversation can be difficult. There comes a point where you are not able to share the same living space all of the time. If you have reached this point then this is a clear indicator that it is now time for you to move to a bigger property. Your Furniture is too Small

As your kids grow up, you may find that everything feels smaller too. The one couch you had may not fit everyone anymore and on top of this, you may find that people end up fighting over which seat they want. Your furniture pieces may still fit in your home but when your family do not fit on the furniture anymore, this may be a good sign that you are due to upgrade to a much bigger home.

Your Kids’ Rooms are Too Small

If your kids share the same room then this may seem like the best way for you to save space, but this is not the case at all. You may find that they do not have the room they need to study or that it is hard for them to get along with one another too. If your rooms are bursting at the seams but you feel like you just can’t do anything about it then this would indicate that you have in fact reached your limit and that something needs to change.

You Need More Bathrooms

Homes that have two bathrooms are very highly sought after if you speak to a real estate agent. Now it is easy to know why. If you have a home with one bathroom then you may find that this just isn’t enough when you have a growing family. Everyone will probably need to go at the same time and there is zero privacy between you all as well. As your children grow up, their needs will become greater and you need to make sure that you are meeting their needs too, so a bigger house may be the best option if you want to continue to give them the help they want.

Crammed Cupboards

When you first move into your home, you may feel somewhat overwhelmed at the amount of cupboard space you have. You may find that you have an expansive attic and that you are never going to fill the space up. This is understandable, but eventually things change and now you may be at the point where your entire home is filled to the brim. You may find that you are constantly having to re-organize your cupboards and that you are also having to move stuff from one place to another. Boxing the lesser-used stuff may seem like it takes hours at times and this can really make things difficult for you overall. If you are sick and tired of doing this, then there are things that you can do to try and help yourself. You may find that you can invest in a storage unit or that you simply need to try and have a clear-out. That being said, there comes a time when you need to try and move house. When you do, you will soon find that you are able to organize everything and that your life becomes that bit less hectic and cluttered.
