Sharing is caring!

I may have mentioned before that I am a goal oriented person. I like setting goals and I think they keep far more on task then setting something like a resolution. Sometimes I may have issues with achieving my goals, especially if I’m not breaking them up into actionable steps. This is also something that I’m working on in terms of self improvement and time management. It’s all about steps and breaking things up for me because the more I can plan, the better of I am… most of the time. Now if I could just apply all of that to blogging, I might be good to go!

february blog goals

January was an okay month for me on the blog front. I managed to rebrand, mostly with success, from Just Another Mom to Kori at Home. Which you obviously know since you’re reading this post. The rebrand was something that I felt was necessary to do going forward, especially as I’m attempting to build a brand around myself. Kori at Home, the blog in general regardless of what it was named, is the nervous system to my work at home endeavors. In essence, everything else that I plan out in terms of working at home will eventually come back to this blog. So completing the rebrand to something that I felt was more workable and better encompassed my overall vision; was essential.

Blog Goals for February

Audience_Overview_-_Google_Analytics_-_2016-02-01_09.45.37

Looking back, I think I did pretty okay for a blog that launched on the 5th! I’m going to record this in my EBA Planner so I can keep tracking my stats. This is roughly where I left off in December with Just Another Mom and hopefully I can keep that momentum going. If I don’t, I’m also trying not to get hung up on it. That doesn’t do me any favors in the long run because I can get so caught up in numbers that I start to neglect the other aspects.

So, blog goals for next month include:

  • Updating old posts for SEO and Pinterest purposes (at least 20, evergreen and seasonal)
  • Pushing out old posts on social media through Buffer
  • Creating three new landing pages based on keyword searches that I’m already ranking for
  • Determining and targeting three new keywords to rank for and/or obtain a steady stream of traffic for
  • Write and publish another eBook
  • Tweak and refine my social media promotion strategy
  • Tweak and refine the structure of my blog

I will also continue to evaluate the information that I’m receiving from custom dashboards in Google Analytics to continue to create keyword plans and to plan content for my blog.

I’m looking forward to the release of EBA 2.0 towards the end of this month. I’ll admit, I probably didn’t go through EBA as thoroughly as I should have the first time around so I’m really looking forward to the updates and applying that knowledge.

Another thing that’s helped me last month and will continue to help me this month, is a blog traffic eBook that I purchased. Packed with 17 actionable steps that are easy to implement, I know that this will also help me with my blog growth.

Personal Goals for February

On a more personal level, I’d like to read at least one book by the end of this month. Whether it’s related to blogging or not, that’s definitely something that I miss doing. I try to re-read Pride and Prejudice monthly just because it’s one of my favorite books. And it’s like an old friend, you know?

I also need to start getting back into shape and exercising more. Either by incorporating yoga or Pilates or even simple stretching and walking. I’ve really fallen off the exercise bandwagon. And my back is suffering for it. I’ve pulled my back twice in the last month. And while I was able to treat it at home and relatively easily, it still wasn’t my favorite thing to deal with.

So that’s what I’m working on for this month, what about you?

I love the job you did on your rebranding! It looks like you have thought out all aspects of what you want your blog to be in the future. That’s a huge job! I’m still needing to go back and redirect pins after changing last year.

It helps me to focus on only 1-2 goals at a time and create daily sub-goals to move in the right direction. Otherwise it gets too overwhelming. I already have three planners because 1 is just not enough!
