Whenever a storm kicks up or there’s heavy snow, gutters get damaged. For many people, it’s just a fact of life and something they accept, like getting older.

But now a company has come along and changed the game. K-Guard Rocky Mountains is offering perhaps the best gutter system on the market — or so it claims — that offers extra strength and inherent anti-clog designs.

But what makes it so special?

That’s what we wondered before we started writing this review. We wanted to know why so many homeowners were raving about this new guttering system and whether it really was as special as they seemed to be making out. Usually, you don’t get excited about guttering, but this time, it’s different.

How K-Guards Works

K-Guards are quite different from conventional guttering and if you were to look at them, you’d probably wonder what they were. The idea behind them is to be as robust as possible while requiring minimal or no maintenance

You can think of K-Guards as the next-generation design of guttering. Previously, gutters had a U-shaped cross-section to act as a channel for water flow, but with K-Guards, it’s different. These actually have a covered top and then a rounded section that allows water to roll in under surface tension, while leaves and twigs simply fall to the ground. The overall design is a bit like a letterbox, but carefully shaped to prevent dripping.

This system, K-Guards claims, eliminates the risk of overflowing or clogging. Water simply runs to the downspout before being carried away by storm drains, or so the theory goes.

The Pros Of K-Guards

So, what did we like about the clever K-Guard Rocky Mountains system?

Effective Handling Of Heavy Rainfall, Snow, And Ice

One of the things we liked the most was how adept K-Guards were at dealing with heavy rainfall, ice and snow. This was something that we didn’t expect, but the product passed with flying colors.

The ability for the product to support heat cables was particularly impressive. These incorporate into the design and prevent the formation of potentially dangerous ice dams that could damage property and destroy conventional guttering.

Designed For Extreme Climates

As one of the best gutter companies in Denver, K-Guard Rocky Mountains is designed for extreme climates. We liked how durable and robust these products felt, and their ability to deal with extreme temperature variations (which is second-to-none).

Overall, you get a sense with these gutters that they could survive anything. They are a far cry from the plastic U-shaped gutters that dominate most residential buildings, which is what made them so exciting to us.

Minimal Servicing Or Maintenance Required

Another perk for us was the fact that these products require very little servicing or maintenance. Once you have them installed, they are essentially “set and forget.”

Most gutters require attention, of course, at least once or twice a year, especially during the fall months. But K-Guard simply isn’t like that. These products prevent debris from getting inside and clogging up the water channel, so they continue to flow freely, year after year. The chances of a clog forming are minimal.

Highly Durable

We also liked the fact that K-Guard gutters were so durable and long-lasting. They’re built to withstand everything, thanks to their unique aluminum construction and design. The brand puts significant effort into ensuring that they have the maximum reinforcement, so anyone buying them feels confident.

What’s more, every aspect of the product also comes with a warranty of one sort or another. For example, there’s a warranty on the parts, the materials and craftsmanship, and the overall installation. It means that even if there is a problem (which is unlikely), customers can go back to K-Guard and find a solution.

Aesthetically Pleasing

Finally, we think that K-Guard is actually an upgrade over conventional guttering in terms of looks. The aluminum construction and design just look so much better. The full effect is to boost your home’s curb appeal and benefit from years of good looks because of the reduction in the risk of chipping, fading, and denting that comes with this superior material.

The Downsides Of K-Guard Rocky Mountain Gutter Guards

Of course, there were some downsides that we identified (as there are with every product), but these seemed minimal to us.

For example, we could see that there would still be a need to clean these gutter guards, but only in the same way that roof tiles or siding require cleaning. Using a wet vacuum to pull debris from the gutter channel seemed unnecessary to us.

Furthermore, there are some compatibility issues surrounding K-Guard Rocky Mountain’s products. Some homes may have roofs that don’t quite work with them, which could be a problem. The brand is keen to highlight its adapters and other products, but some homeowners may have to go to extra lengths.

What To Consider Before Installing K-Guard Gutter Systems

Whether you decide to install K-Guard’s gutter system on your property depends on whether it is the right choice for you. We think this home upgrade is best for people who:

  • Need something robust that can protect their properties long-term
  • Live in an area prone to debris and other issues
  • Live in a storm-prone area or a part of the country where gutter damage is common
  • Are looking to make aesthetic improvements to their home

K-Guard does require professional installation, so that needs to be factored into the process. But overall, we were impressed and we could see why the brand was so keen to highlight its warranties.

Final Verdict: Is The K-Guard Gutter System Any Good?

Whether the K-Guard gutter system is any good depends on your circumstances. If you’re in an area where gutters are prone to debris and damage, then it is a five-star product and we can’t sign its praises highly enough. It’s one of those products that you really need to see in action to understand how it could benefit you.
