All opinions are mine alone. #GiveHappiness #CollectiveBias Though it’s an important concept to work on throughout the year, during this time of the year, it’s a great time to start teaching kids to give back. Or, if you’d rather, you can call it paying it forward. Whatever the case may be, it’s the time of year that I think is ideal to teach this all important lesson. Along with teaching kids gratitude, empathy, respect, and manners; teaching kids to give back is one of my top and foremost priorities. I feel that it truly does go a long way in life when they learn to give back. But how can we go about…

Helping Kids Identify Moods

One of the things that Sweet B has consistently struggled with are abstract concepts such as moods. She’s done somewhat okay with concrete concepts such as colors, numbers, foods, or anything else that has some sort of association with the senses. If she can feel it, see it, taste, smell it, or touch it- she’s more likely to remember what it is and have an easier time with learning it. Of course it still takes repetition, but that’s just how she learns. With abstract concepts, on the other hand, it’s definitely been more of a struggle. But, I’ve also learned (through trial and error, and a lot of assistance from her team of teachers and therapists) that visual representations do a world of good. By…

However, if you would like a different translation, let me know and I’ll see…

Freebie Friday: Apostle’s Creed for Toddlers

Welcome back to another Freebie Friday! I’m making it a goal to get back on track with these and this week I have one to share that I hope you’ll love! As a Christian, I know that it’s my responsibility to share that faith with my children and to make sure that they understand the basics of their faith. Part of this is the Apostle’s Creed and I was trying to think of ways to teach that to Squeaker and Sweet B. Visuals work for Sweet B, so why not Squeaker. After looking through my clipart, I came up with a printable Apostle’s Creed for Toddlers – which is a combination of clipart and text. Why teach the Apostle’s Creed? The apostle’s creed is easier…
