I have an incredibly curious preschooler! She’s always been like that as far as I can remember, but lately? She really wants to know about everything. Whenever we go places, she wants to know how things work, why they do this, or why they do that. And now she’s doing that at home– which is great! I love to feed into her curiosity and today we talked about circuits.

Science was never a strong point for me, but I’m learning, that with my daughter? It’s just one of those things that she wants to know more about. And I am more than happy to encourage her.

We started by finding out what a circuit was on Energizer.com where we also learned about electricity. Of course, this was kind of difficult for her to understand so we took into a more hands-on method.

We tried to DIY a few things with what we found online using:

I looked up simple circuit experiments that used batteries and household materials. Our first attempt involved:
  • aluminium foil
  • paper clips
  • a light bulb
  • electrical tape
  • Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries

I realize that yes, using copper wire would have been the way to go.

However, it was during this search for copper wire that I realized we had something else!

And we were back in action thanks to this circuit kit! It was so much easier to explain how electricity and circuits worked with the Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries.

Not only that, but we also tried to do a light circuit.

Thanks to the circuit kit, we were really able to get hands-on.

We already stock up on Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries anyway, so now it’s nice to know that we have a great source and use for them to power our home learning experiences too!

It satisfied my daughter’s curiousity and then some! Our next experiment, of sorts, will be taking apart a clock so we can see how to put it back together.

We are stocking up on our Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries at our local Walgreens. And from now until June 30th, you can earn an extra 5,000 bonus points when you use your Balance Rewards Card to purchase an 8 pack or larger of Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries! The Balance Rewards program is free to join and you can sign up in-store, online, or by downloading the Walgreens app. Learn more at the Walgreens website.

How would Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumâ„¢ batteries help power your summer?
