If you’re thinking about making some home improvements, it makes sense to upgrade with the future in mind. Make changes that will not only benefit you in the short term but will add value to the property overall and be appealing to future buyers. Things such as room conversions, insulation, and epoxy flooring are excellent ideas for achieving these aims.

Cavity Wall Insulation

The future is all about conservation. If you want to save money on your monthly energy bills and upgrade your home to make it appealing to future buyers, you should consider cavity wall insulation. In this process a special foam is injected into the walls that fill up the cavity, significantly improving the energy efficiency of your living space.

Epoxy Flooring

What kind of flooring do you have in your garage? Is it bare concrete, lino, or something else? Most garages tend to have a concrete floor, the same one that came with the property. Unless the garage has been converted into a gym, studio, or home extension, it’s unlikely that it will have been upgraded. Outfitting your garage floor with epoxy flooring is an excellent way to boost the value of your home. Epoxy flooring is durable, easy to clean, long-lasting, and it gives your home a cared-for look – before you know your neighbor will have it too.

A Loft Conversion

Many people have a loft or attic that is relatively disused. It might be a dark spooky region of the house filled with old portraits and cobwebs, or not – but now might be a good time to convert that loft space anyway into an extra living space. It is one of the most effective ways to increase your living space and the overall value of your home. Aloft conversion can make for a cozy bedroom, inviting living space, or home office. Adding a home office to your home will not only be advantageous to you, but it will also present your home as a new progressive option for future buyers.

In The Garden

The garden is always an excellent opportunity to increase the value of your property. But while you’re living there, you should enjoy it too. Trim the borders, clear the pathways, and cut back the bushes. If you don’t have a decking area, consider installing one. With lockdown restrictions easing, it’s possible to get-together in outdoor areas such as gardens for BBQs and small social gatherings. A new decking area will not only sell a vision of your home to future buyers; it will allow you to live your dream in the process.

A Home Office

Whether you have been furloughed from your job or are running a small business, a home office is the next big thing to have in the home. If you don’t have a loft or bedroom that can be easily converted, consider adding an extension to the house, converting a garage, or putting a shed in the garden. It’s a simple renovation that can increase the floor space of your home, boost its value, and give you a practical area to work in until the crisis comes to an end.
