Sharing is caring!

It’s so hard for me to believe that it’s already August!

I did set up a to-do list for the summer but it’s not nearly as complete as I’d like it to be. A lot of it has to do with building my email subscriber list and creating a paid member’s area. It also has to do with finding the time to do everything. Which, I’m now watching my niece several days a week. So having her here has been fun… but also somewhat challenging.

It’s also given me some pretty good ideas for blog posts and activities.

Anyway, moving on to the latest monthly income report!

Yes it is entirely possible to earn an income from blogging! This is just how one mom is doing it.

Please do note that while I call these monthly income reports, this is solely from blogging income at the moment. Within the next few months I plan to add on network marketing and will mark that separately. It will still go into my overall income report though.

Income Earned

INCOME SOURCE AMOUNT EARNED
Mediavine $160
Activate by Bloglovin’ $57.74
TapInfluence $225
Clever Girls $425
SoFab/Collective Bias $339
Influence Central $150
Total Income Earned: $1356

Can you imagine my surprise when I realized that I hit three straight months of earning over $1k?

2016, so far, has turned out to be one of my more successful years as a blogger. And yes, this is all from blogging. Yes- the majority is still from sponsored work. With the exception of Mediavine (the ad network that I am oh so proud to partner with), this is all sponsored work.

I don’t want to have to rely on sponsored work because it can be sporadic but it’s also nice to know that I have that coming in. Some months, obviously, are far better than others. July was a pleasant surprise and August is shaping out to be pretty good, too.

Expenses

EXPENSE NAME AMOUNT SPENT
ConvertKit $29
FEA $30
Microsoft Office $6.99
Adobe Creative Cloud $53.99
Meet Edgar $49
Buffer $10
Stock Unlimited $9
Contextly $9
Total Expenses: $196.98

Biggest difference for July? No purchases! It’s amazing when I don’t really spend much in terms of courses and eBooks. Though believe me, the temptation is definitely there. I also know that I have plenty of material that I need to go through and implement.

So, all total, my monthly gross for July is: $1168.02

Not too shabby, huh? And what a difference it makes when I don’t buy any courses or eBooks. Granted, that number may not be 100% on point because I usually do purchase a few clipart bundles… but I forgot to write those down in my Epic Blog planner. Poor excuse, I know.

Traffic Report

My traffic for July stayed steady at around 30k pageviews. I’m happy with that and that seems to be my base. It’s respectable enough for me and I know that it’s also a number I can work with and grow on. My overall traffic goal for the end of this year was 100k pageviews but I don’t think I’ll get there.

And I’m mostly okay with that.

August Goals

This month will mark the first month that I use a VA steadily. Mostly for my Pinterest chore threads so I can spend time doing other things. Like batch working and making images in PicMonkey. Which, I want to talk about that in an upcoming post. The newest feature is such a game changer!

I still need to work on diversifying my income streams and I also want to work ahead a little bit this month. I’m hoping to set myself up nicely for the start of September. And, during the last full week of August I will be on vacation. I’m going to be mostly unplugged as I’m visiting family

So that’s really it! I’m carrying over my goals from last month to this month, hoping to get more of my to-do list done, and preparing for a much needed vacation.
