Sharing is caring!

We all want a home that is easily manageable, right? Where you’re not constantly tripping up, picking up and venting in frustration that the home isn’t ‘in order’. Well, that reality isn’t always easy to achieve but with the right tips, it could be.

With that being said, here are some valuable tips on how to keep your home more manageable this year.

Consider decluttering your spaces

Declutter your spaces. This is a crucial one because, without regular decluttering, your home will become a mess. There are only so many cupboards and drawers that your belongings can be crammed into and then they just start spilling onto the floor. If that sounds like your home, then it’s time to do a mass declutter.

A declutter should take place every few months because the stuff you collect and bring into the home can be quite substantial. Try to tackle it room by room so as not to overwhelm yourself too quickly and try to do it over a weekend if possible.

Invest in storage pods to move belongings off your property

Storage pods are ideal for those who are looking to make use of storage options off the property but have no clue how to organize it. Smaller items are likely easier to move but the bigger furniture is a bit more of a challenge.

With storage pods, you have them arrive at your home, you fill them up and then they’re driven off to the storage unit to be stored there. It’s a great way of organizing the logistics of getting bigger items of furniture or belongings off the property, especially if you don’t have a big enough car to do it all in.

Rearrange furniture for functionality

Rearranging furniture is a great way to add a bit of functionality to the home. It can also reinvent the space into something completely different. When you move into your home first time, you likely plonked down furniture depending on where it would suit the space best.

However, you can make use of rearranging furniture and transforming it into something new and more importantly – functional!

Take cleaning a day at a time

Cleaning is something that you’ll want to do a day at a time because not everyone likes spending their weekends cleaning. With that in mind, take cleaning a day at a time. Try to clean up as you go but make sure these are being done in short bursts. A quick five minutes here, a quick ten minutes there.

You’ll find that cleaning becomes a lot easier as a result because it’s not building up as fast as it would usually do.

Be smart with your spending and think before buying

Finally, be smart with your spending and instead of buying haphazardly, take your time. Think before you buy so that you’re not just cluttering the home up again.

Managing your home is always about being organized and finding the right methods or furniture that will help keep everything in that orderly fashion that you’re after.
