Sharing is caring!

Sleep: we all need it and we all don’t get enough of it! That can be for a variety of reasons, like a sleep disorder that makes it harder to fall asleep or stay asleep, but everyone has their own different relationship with sleep.

For some people out there, the idea of heading to bed at night just isn’t all that appealing. That’s the kind of problem that makes other sleep issues all the worse, as hitting the hay simply feels mundane and uncomfortable in the first place.

And that’s why it’s essential to turn your bed into the kind of comfy paradise you’ll never want to leave again!

Invest in High Thread Counts

The higher the thread count, the softer the bedding! It’s why you’ll see so many variations in thread counts on sheets, duvet covers, and pillow cases when you’re at the store. Finding the perfect zone for you will make your bed a thousand times more comfortable.

Egyptian cotton varieties tend to be the softest as well, as they’re made from high quality, closely spun materials. Buy a few sets to create a bedding experience that will feel like you’ve just climbed into a pile of downy feathers.

Buy a Supportive Pillow

Do you often wake up with a neck or shoulder ache? Maybe your upper back always feels stiff first thing in the morning? These are signs your current pillow(s) are not doing the job for you.

You need to invest in a much more supportive pillow, which will ensure your upper body is lulled into a position that prevents pressure from exerting too much on any one place. A nuzzle pillow is great for this kind of problem, as they’re made with weightlessness in mind.

When your head hits the pillow and you feel like you’re floating, along with those high thread count sheets and duvet we mentioned above, your bed will feel softer, plusher, and a lot more comfortable.

Use a Weighted Blanket

On the opposite side of things, if you need to feel a bit more pressure during the night, a weighted blanket will do the job just fine. You can buy these blankets at various different strengths, and we do recommend experimenting to find the best weight for you.

Some people love a light 5lb-er, while others prefer blankets that are on the heavier end of the scale, which is usually over 20lbs. Of course, the bigger the blanket itself is, the lighter it’s going to feel, as the weight has more surface area to spread over.

Using one of these at night can make your bed feel like a calm and soothing place. They also tend to maintain temperature quite well, so you shouldn’t get too hot or cold while under one.

Bed not as comfortable as you need it to be? We know how to fix that! Use the tips above to curate your bedding experience to truly suit you. Being comfortable means better sleep!
