Yoga for Kids (and adults, too!)

I’ll have another post up soon about all of the components that we’re using for our afterschooling program, and today I wanted to share another part of it. Sweet B does receive adapted physical education time as a part of her IEP. They have a nice gym at her school with adaptive equipment available. She also goes bowling on the weekends and will soon start taking part in swimming lessons. One of the other ways we get our physical activity and gross motor play in, is by adding in a board game to our afterschooling routine. But this isn’t just your average board game- this one promotes yoga for kids (and adults, too!).

Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken Risotto

After Thanksgiving, while we were trying to figure out how to use up all that leftover Turkey, of course I turned to Pinterest for ideas. Because, why not? I go there for daily inspiration anyway, so I thought it would be a great starting point. After getting extremely sidetracked with all of the cute DIY Christmas idea, I turned to my trusty friend google. Somehow, the thought to make a risotto got into my head and I found one for a turkey and mushroom risotto made in the slow cooker. Perfect! It came out wonderful and I thought why not try to duplicate that by making a slow cooker shredded chicken risotto. This recipe is also very budget friendly, with the priciest item being the…

Slow Cooker Beef “Stir Fry”

Please be advised that this post makes use of affiliate links. By clicking on a link and making a purchase, I will receive a small commission. We love making stir fry in our house because it’s so easy to put together. Most of the time we have the ingredients we need on hand, so it’s only a matter of making a quick stop to the grocery store to pick up the main ingredient. Usually we make beef stir fry, but we’ll also make chicken stir fry. The other night, however, Kyle and I were debating as to how we should make our stir fry. Since we don’t have a wok, we usually just use a saute pan. We both have fond memories of our parents…

Canned Biscuit Breakfast Bake Recipe

With the holidays approaching, and family arriving (though not for us this year), you’ll want to have some quick and easy breakfast/brunch ideas to have handy. One thing that I love to do is make cinnamon rolls or set out a simple breakfast buffet table with selections such as scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, English muffins, and bagels. Another way I like to prepare breakfast or brunch for a larger crowd is to make a breakfast casserole. Casseroles tend to be a staple in our house at this time of the year anyway, so why not apply that to breakfast? I just had to try this delicious canned biscuit breakfast bake recipe. This recipe was adapted slightly from here After doing a Google search for breakfast…

Have Fun and Get Moving with EzyRoller

Please be advised that this post may contain affiliate links. By clicking on a link and making a purchase, I will earn a small commission. Of everything that’s in the gift guide, this next gift has definitely been the most anticipated in terms of getting a review done. T & J were particularly excited about doing this review and wanted to know (almost immediately) when we were going to get that done. Of course that kind of defeated the point of having this as a Christmas gift, but their excitement was definitely worth it. EzyRoller is a featured gift in our Holiday Gift Guide

Create with Blu Track

Though I don’t talk about them too much, Kyle’s two boys are here with us on the weekends. Though we’re far past the feeling out stage, sometimes I feel it’s difficult for me to engage with them. Not for lack of trying, but it’s just the truth. It’s been easier in the past year and I know it will only get better. That being said, when I started looking for more kids stuff for the Gift Guide, I had them in mind as well. I know they have a general affection for Hot Wheels, so I looked for something similar and came across Blu Track. I thought that the concept looked pretty neat and after reaching out, I had secured a set to review. [Tweet…
