Plumbers are always in high demand. If you notice a problem, you are advised to call a plumber sooner, rather than later. This can prevent the issue from getting worse and causing even more damage, which can result in a very expensive repair bill. So, let’s take a look at seven of the key signs you need to call a plumber…

  1. Water near your heater

Have you noticed some water near the water heater? If so, get in touch with a plumber as soon as you can. When tank water heaters are older, they may burst, which can cause homes to flood.

  1. Loud noises

Can you hear loud noises coming from the water tank? If so, call a plumber, as it may need to be replaced or drained. Issues like this can be easy to ignore at first, but they will only get worse and worse if you do not do anything about it.

  1. Low water pressure

If your water pressure is less than usual, and it only comes out in a trickle, it is best to call a plumber. Sometimes this is a minor issue, but it could also be a big problem, such as a pressured valve malfunction.

  1. Clogged drains

One of the most common reasons to call a plumber is if your drains are clogged. While there are tips online regarding how to fix this yourself, it’s not advised. Using household chemicals or trying to unclog your drains with a coat hanger can cause further damage to your system.

  1. A leaking toilet

A leaking toilet is another reason to get in touch with a specialist. The seal could be broken if you’ve noticed that there is water seeping from your toilet’s base.

  1. Leaking faucet

A dripping faucet may not cause any panic, but it is a good idea to get it checked. The last thing you want to do is come home to a flooded bathroom.

  1. Higher bills

Are your water bills higher than usual? If so, there could be a water leak underground that is yet to surface. A lot of people assume that it is simply because their water company has put the prices up, but it’s often something different.

  1. Water in your crawl space

Another sign that you are having issues with your plumbing is water in your crawl space. This can happen because of a leaking plumbing fixture. The best thing when it comes to a crawl space issue is to opt for an expert in the area, such as Dry Tek Environmental. They will help to get to the bottom of the issue and put provisions in place to ensure it does not happen again.

Aside from the signs mentioned in this post, other signs that now is the time to call a plumber is if you notice water stains in your home or the toilet will not flush.
