Fall Themed Numbers and Counting Worksheets for Preschoolers

Fall Themed Numbers and Counting Worksheets for Preschoolers

While we are setting up our afterschool at home schedule, I’m also looking at my autistic daughter’s IEP goals. This is how I set up our themes and activities. I do admit, I look to preschool and PreK for inspiration for themes as I still have my books from when I co-taught. However, I also know that I need to modify the activities to my daughter’s level. I have yet to figure out her literacy level but she is really good at matching, sorting, and identifying colors. So we take her strengths and also build up the weaknesses.  I can cater the worksheets for her and for this next set of free printable autism worksheets, we have a numbers printable.  How to use these free…

The Ultimate List of Eric Carle Books for Toddlers and Preschoolers

The Ultimate List of Eric Carle Books for Toddlers and Preschoolers

We absolutely love Eric Carle, renowned and beloved children’s author and illustrator. Most children are familiar with The Very Hungry Caterpillar and that was Squeaker’s first introduction into this imaginative, colorful, and playful world. We have done one mini-unit so far on this book and I have plans to do mini-units on other books in the future. Perhaps when we plan for PreK or Kindergarten, we’ll devote a unit to Eric Carle again. The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is not too far from us either, so we’ll definitely have to plan a visit there. The books that he’s written and/or illustrated are the perfect foundation for a well rounded unit or to use within other units. And with over 70 to choose…

What Are the Benefits of Teaching Babies Sign Language?

Even if your child is not hearing impaired, I would highly recommend introducing sign language to your baby. This gives your baby another way to communicate before they have the words to do so and can also be an important tool later on in life. Who knows what they might encounter in a work place or school setting where the situation may call for some sign language skills. Aside from giving your child an early means of communication, there are many benefits of teaching babies sign language. Even if your child only knows a few signs or the alphabet, this can still be a huge help. For purposes of this post, I’m covering ASL or American Sign Language. When can babies learn sign language? I’m…

Simple STEM for Preschoolers: Learning About Circuits

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PowerYourSummer #CollectiveBias I have an incredibly curious preschooler! She’s always been like that as far as I can remember, but lately? She really wants to know about everything. Whenever we go places, she wants to know how things work, why they do this, or why they do that. And now she’s doing that at home– which is great! I love to feed into her curiosity and today we talked about circuits. Science was never a strong point for me, but I’m learning, that with my daughter? It’s just one of those things that she wants to know more about. And I am more than happy to encourage her….
