I never quite knew what I would be getting into when I decided to take the steps to becoming a professional blogger. Don’t get me wrong- there have been plenty of ups and downs, and a lot of learning along the way. And by a lot, I really do mean a lot. Between social media, blogging networks, and technology changes; there’s always something new to learn.

One of the biggest things for me was learning how to manage my productivity as a work at home mom while still balancing life.

Making the most of the time that I have as opposed to trying to cram everything in was a hard lesson to learn. Maybe it sounds easier than I made it out to be, but this was a huge source of struggle. But, I’m determined to make this all work and to get myself moving in the right direction.

Here are just a few of the steps that I’m taking to improve my productivity as a work at home mom.

For as long as I can remember-  I wanted to be a mom. And an entrepreneur, maybe a cowgirl, or a sports journalist.

But I’ve always wanted to be a mom.

Being a blogger, has also allowed for me to earn income while still being a stay at home mom.

And yet, so much of the fun was being taken away from it as my daily blogging tasks seemed to eat away at all of the free time.

So aside from looking at ways that I could possibly make more of my time, I also knew that I had to look at other possibilities.

  • Time logs to help with my time management
  • Local outings and day trips with my youngest to get her socialized and both of us out of the house
  • Creating a cleaning schedule
  • Using a planner
  • Setting a timer to track how much time I was really wasting while playing a game

But there had to be more than just that. Something that I was missing or overlooking. Maybe not so much the little things, but the bigger things.

Things like the laptop that I was using.

I had a feeling, based on past experience, that a faster laptop would help. I also wanted something that was a little bit more portable and I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet like the Lenovo Yoga 720.

This new processor allows me to edit photos and videos faster, which saves me time. I can purchase things that we need for our home from the convenience of my new laptop while not having to wait around for other things to finish.

I can shop and bank online securely with the simple swipe of a finger.

My new Lenovo Yoga 720 handles it all- in laptop or tablet mode.

I can change easily between the two and now I can even pursue other things on my laptop with my digital pen or stylus. Including the new Windows Ink/3D.

And, of course, when it needs to be, my Lenovo Yoga 720 is ready to go in tablet mode for more portable entertainment.

This beautiful machine comes with an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor and combined with some of the accessories available at Best Buy, I knew I was set.

How would a new laptop help improve your productivity?
