Sharing is caring!

As a mom, you can eventually get to the point where you’re not happy in your home. No matter what you do, you just can’t enjoy the time you spend inside your four walls and want to escape.

Usually, though, there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with your house. It’s just the environment – and that’s something that you can change.

If you’re a mom and you’re not feeling happy in your home, take a look at these fixes.

Bring More Plants Into Your Interiors

Sometimes interiors can look stark and unwelcoming. The combination of paint and cheap furniture can leave you feeling a little unloved.

Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way. Just adding a few plants here and there can make a massive difference to how you feel.

Researchers have found that when people put greenery in their homes, it helps to lower blood pressure and reduce the release of stress hormones, like cortisol, which makes you feel run-down and drained.

Right now, monkey leaf is one of the most popular indoor shrubs because of its large leaves. When choosing plants, go as big as you can, as these have the most profound impact on wellbeing.

Remodel Your Home Exterior

If the outside of your property is looking a little worse for wear, it can sometimes leave you feeling depressed and wanting to move. Nobody wants to live in an ugly, dilapidated building.

Home remodeling delivered massive benefits to us, and it can happen to you too. Replacing the roof, upgrading the cladding, and repainting old window frames gives your property a massive facelift. So when you get home after a busy day, you feel like you’re stepping into a brand new place.

For those of you who are desperate to move, this simple change can make you feel like you live in a wholly different property. It takes away the need to move out and go somewhere different when you feel happy about the building you currently occupy.

Create More Storage Space

It isn’t easy to love your home when there’s stuff all over the place, littering the floor. Clutter creates stress and makes you wish you lived somewhere else. The problem is even worse for moms. Kids have a habit of multiplying the amount of stuff that you have in your home ten-fold.

The solution here is to introduce innovative storage solutions. You want to make ample use of all the vertical space in your property. Built-in cupboards in all the bedrooms are the first step. Then adding attractive storage solutions in the playroom and kitchen are two more top priorities. You can also create storage space in your outdoor areas, such as underneath your decking or in outside chests and sheds. Don’t be afraid to come up with a storage plan to work out whether you have space to keep all your possessions out of sight and mind when you don’t need them.

Nobody wants to live in a home that feels cluttered or shabby. But with these ideas, you can quickly turn things around.
