Keep as many to-do lists as you can

To-do lists are a blessing when you are looking to keep your home organized. There are so many types of lists you can keep and it makes sense to have these on you at all times such as on your phone or tablet. Include things like your schedule for the week and where everyone needs to be and when. Write shopping lists for food and other school supplies and also note down anything you need to remember. With so many people to take care of it’s easy to forget things!

Be smart with your home design

The way your home is inside can play a real part in how easy it is to keep organized. For example, your kitchen will get a lot of use so you want it to be as functional yet well-designed as possible. From cultured marble worktops that are durable and easy to clean, to having plenty of storage for all the different food items your family needs, it’s important to consider all the little details. Have as much storage as you can and ensure everyone knows where things go and to pick up after themselves as they go along.

Have your kids get involved with the chores

Chores are no fun for anyone, but it’s a good idea to get the kids involved. It can help to teach them a sense of responsibility and also make it that bit easier for you around the house too. You could create a rota and offer pocket money if they get all of their bits done. You could even incentivize them with extra treats if they go above and beyond. As well as regular chores, be sure to declutter your house often. This makes it a lot easier to keep on top of everything and not get bogged down with mess.

These are just a few things you can do that can help you to keep on top of things in the family home. By implementing just a few small and simple changes, you’ll find a big difference in the efficiency of the running of your household. What are some of the things you find really help when it comes to keeping your home organized when you have a family? Let us know in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
