If you’ve never been to the Northeastern part of the United States, between now and the end of October is one of the absolute best times to visit. Comprised of the New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and the Mid Atlantic states (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania); this part of the country explodes with color.

And for us, that means making a lot of day trips in and around Albany. Day trips are a great way for us to spend time as a family and a mostly budget friendly way- depending on where we’re going.

From leaf peeping all over the place to sticking closer to home and going apple picking (and later pumpkin picking); there is so much to see and do.

We make several trips up to Indian Ladder Farms. It’s one of the best places to get fresh apple cider donuts and they also have a large variety of apples to pick throughout September and into October. Then, of course, we have to go back in October for a little pumpkin picking. Even if we aren’t going there to pick anything, it’s still a lovely place to visit.

It’s an actual working farm, so there are animals to see as well.

Nearby, is another favorite spot to visit. So we like to make a day trip out of this. We’ll head over to Indian Ladder Farms in the morning, and then spend the afternoon hiking at Thacher State Park.

It really is a great way to spend the day and enjoy a little bit of what this area has to offer. It also helps that both my mom and Kyle’s parents are close, so we can really make an extended day (or night) of it and stop by.

Before we go anywhere though, we need to make sure that the truck is ready. It’s our primary vehicle, so we have to make sure that it can take us where we need to go. And, of course, get us back home.

this-used-truck-is-all-we-have

Sure, it might be in need of a little love but we do our best to make sure that it’s running and that we’ll get to do all of the things we have planned. That also means making a trip up to our local Walmart to stock up on our day trip supplies.

And while we’re there, we can pick up Quaker State Defy™ High Mileage Motor Oil. This motor oil is ideal for those reliable cars or trucks that may have seen a few more miles. It helps to reduce wear, for longer engine life and has additional friction modifiers for improved fuel economy.

You can find this product, and others by Quaker State, at your local Walmart in the auto care section.

Great oil at a great price, Quaker State gives you more durability and honesty.

Where would your travels take you with Quaker State at your side? Would you travel the country or spend the day exploring your home state?

New York has so much to offer aside from New York City. Come explore a bit of Albany with us. #CambialoConQS

We often go to the Smokey’s or the Blue Ridge Mountains. They are both driving distance from where we are. I have also enjoyed in upstate New York.

These activities sound fun. I’ve only experienced fall when I traveled to Japan a few times before. I love the chilly weather and the gorgeous colors.

I love Fall, wish I could spend it in Albany! Fall isn’t all that pretty here in California, it’s either hot or super cold. Love how everything looks so pretty in NY during the fall.
