I have received information and materials from McNeil Nutritionals, LLC the makers of LACTAID®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post.
Have I ever mentioned that I’m lactose intolerant? I get this from my mom’s side of the family and most of my family members on that side are also lactose intolerant. We think it’s a hereditary thing from being Asian. And it’s actually quite common. Lactose is a type of sugar found in milk. The enzyme lactase is needed to digest this sugar properly. People with a lactose intolerance don’t make enough of this enzyme. Pretty simple, right? But this pretty simple thing can prevent those with lactose intolerance from enjoying a lot of dairy based products. And for me, that just doesn’t sit well. I love cheese, cottage cheese, milk, ice cream- you name it. That’s why Lactaid products have been a part of my life since I was a child. One of the ways that I enjoy Lactaid products now are in a delicious and easy cookies and cream milkshake.
This was also Squeaker’s first milkshake so I had to be mindful to not make it too thick. I did end up drinking about 3/4 of the milk before blending though, but it was still on the thinner side. Which is fine by me because it was easier to drink with a straw. I’m not a huge fan of thick, thick milkshakes that you have to eat with a spoon… because to me, that almost defeats the purpose!
Cookies and cream is one of my favorite flavors. Growing up, I always loved this flavor and Butter pecan. But the biggest problem with butter pecan is that those pesky pecans get stuck in the straw sometimes. With cookies and cream, I don’t have to worry about that.
Lactaid cookies and cream ice cream is also delicious on it’s own or with a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
You can find Lactaid ice cream at most major grocery stores and in the freezer section of your local WalMart:

Next time I’m at the grocery store, I will be stocking up on Butter Pecan, Salted Caramel Chip, and more Cookies and Cream… and I suppose it couldn’t hurt to have chocolate or vanilla around, either.
