This means physically separating the two and being intentional with your decisions. If you know that your main working hours are 9-5 then you need to be in your zone of genius during these times.

Whether that’s your home office or the cozy corner you created for your creative space, you need to stick to this as much as possible. As soon as you know you’ve done your hours for the day or completed the tasks you needed to do, it’s time to remove yourself from that space. This is much easier said than done, especially if you’re an entrepreneur.

Try to keep your laptop or work phone in a separate room when you are trying to switch off at the end of the day.

Stock up the bathroom cupboards with your favorite bubble bath and buy in plenty of face masks; as soon as you need them they will be there waiting for you!

Once you have made your home into a beautiful and welcoming environment, you’re going to want to spend more time there. Hanging out at home is an activity that you will always enjoy, so why not make it more of a habit? Pencil it in your diary and make sure you don’t cancel on yourself! You don’t have to be out and about all the time as this will eventually become totally exhausting for you. Put on your favorite movie, run a bubble bath or spend time cooking a nutritious dinner in the kitchen.

As soon as you spend more time at home you will really appreciate the space you have created.

Sometimes you just want to relax and be by yourself at home right? That is completely normal, so don’t be afraid to say no to visitors. Perhaps you mother likes to pop round or your partner’s friends always make an appearance on a Friday evening when you’ve had a long week. Your home should run by your rules otherwise it’s not going to feel like the soothing safe haven you want it to be. Saying no to visitors should feel empowering to you, rather than a burden to others.

Remember that this is your safe space and you should never feel obliged to host when you don’t have the energy to do so.
