When you’re pregnant, it’s incredibly important to look after yourself. With a great self-care strategy you’ll soon improve your health, and de-stress. To help you practice self-care during pregnancy, check out these five ideas.

 

1 . Plenty of sleep

 

When you’re pregnant, it’s important that you get plenty of sleep. Remember, you might not feel as energetic as usual. You’ll need a little more rest than you did before. If you’re struggling to sleep at night it’s a good idea to try sleep apps. These apps have special sleep stories and meditations, to help you drift off. You might also like to try herbal supplements.   1. A gentle exercise regime 

 

When you’re pregnant, gentle exercise is a good way to look after your body and boost your endorphin levels. You might try a pregnancy yoga class, or go for walks? Yoga is great for pregnancy, it can help you to reduce aches and pains, and de-stress. If you like the idea of staying at home, you might try a yoga app. There are lots of different apps to choose from, and these are super convenient. Remember, it’s incredibly important to listen to your body during this time. You certainly won’t want to overdo it, or do any exercises that are too strenuous.

To look after yourself during pregnancy, it’s important that you eat plenty of nourishing foods. Focus on plenty of fruits and vegetables, and foods that boost the immune system.   1. Stress coping strategies

 

When you’re pregnant it’s important that you keep your stress levels down. It’s useful to have different strategies for coping with stress. Here are a few ideas that you can use.

  • Treat yourself to a massage, or aromatherapy.
  • Write down your reflections in a journal.
  • Practice deep breathing exercises.
  • Try herbal supplements (chamomile or passionflower).

When you’re going through pregnancy it can be nice to join a pregnancy group. When you join a group you’ll benefit from a support network, and make new friends. Pregnancy groups are also a great way to get advice and learn new things. You can discuss your birth plan with other expectant mothers, and get plenty of ideas.
