All opinions are mine alone. #CambialoConQS #CollectiveBias If you’ve never been to the Northeastern part of the United States, between now and the end of October is one of the absolute best times to visit. Comprised of the New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and the Mid Atlantic states (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania); this part of the country explodes with color. And for us, that means making a lot of day trips in and around Albany. Day trips are a great way for us to spend time as a family and a mostly budget friendly way- depending on where we’re going. From leaf peeping all…

Exploring Albany, NY on Foot with a Baby and Toddler

“This post was sponsored by Evenflo as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received the Evenflo Sibby Travel System to facilitate my review.” When people think about traveling in New York, they tend to think of two places: Niagara Falls or New York City. But there really is so much more to explore around here. Take Albany, for example. We’re the capital city and there is so much to see and do in the greater capital region. And quite a bit of it is free and easy to get to. We’re fortunate to live in a smaller, quieter neighborhood that’s close to the bus stop. And now that I’m watching my niece Boo-Boo on a regular basis; it also means that Squeaker…

All opinions are mine alone. #RoadTripOil #CollectiveBias Summer usually means spending more time with family, whether that means staying local or heading elsewhere. For us, it means staying within our budget but still having fun. One of the best ways we can do that is by planning local day trips. But, before we hit the open road to a nearby location, we make sure that the car has been taken care of. An older vehicle with plenty of use, Kyle’s SUV has been good to us. And in return, we want to make sure that we’re good to the car. That means staying on top of routine maintenance by following these 8 essential…

How to Plan a Vegetable Garden

How to Plan a Vegetable Garden

Vegetable gardening was our choice of garden when it came to planning a garden last year. We went with a container garden last year but this year we’re going to try for a raised bed in addition to the large containers. We’ll see how it goes, of course, and I will be sure to share our progress. Last year I fell behind with documenting everything, and well.. there wasn’t too much to document by the time all was said and done. I learned a few things and hopefully I won’t repeat the same mistakes. This year will be different because I’m actually going to plan a vegetable garden this year instead of just trying to wing it. Why Plan a Vegetable Garden at Home Growing…

Choosing Love: Dating Tips for Divorced Men or Women

Choosing Love: Dating Tips for Divorced Men or Women

Wise men say only fools rush in – Elvis. Some will say that one of the best song lyrics for relationships is “All you need is love” from the Beatles. I would argue that while yes, love is definitely important; you need more than that for a relationship to truly thrive and survive. You need patience, understanding, respect, humor, growth, humility… I could go on. There is so much more to a relationship than love. And, unfortunately, sometimes it really isn’t enough. When a marriage breaks down and a divorce happens, sometimes you may think that it’s the end and love will never find you again. Or you may be so bitter from the divorce that you rule out love and relationships all together. While…

What to Watch on Thanksgiving

Though we mostly associate Thanksgiving with family and food, there’s another aspect of Thanksgiving that’s become just as much a part of my traditions. And that would be television. Oh yes. For example, I start my day by watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Then I wait (sometimes patiently) for football to start. But surely there are other options, right? What about the non-football fans or those who don’t like parades? Or if you’re a sports junkie or a parade junkie, wouldn’t you like to know what channel to tune into? I did a little digging and I’ve come up with a list of what to watch on Thanksgiving. Hopefully this gives you a helping hand. . On Netflix: Friends Thanksgiving Episodes For the animal…
