Sharing is caring!

The home is a nest you build for your family. Unfortunately, unlike birds who have a vast choice of materials available for their nest, people often need to make do with what they can afford and what is already there. Indeed, most homeowners don’t buy to build. Many choose an existing property they will call home. As a result, you may have less control over the layout and the overall design of the property.

Consequently, the design may not entirely suit your personality or your habits. Thankfully, you can alter your interior to make it more appealing to your tastes. But, did you know you could also focus on home improvement projects that will make your interior more manageable?

Creating a home that is easy to maintain and clean as a busy mom can make a huge difference to your day-to-day life. Here are some tips for tidy interior improvements.

Pick a smart flooring solution

Carpeted floors can feel warm in winter, but they are a living dust trap inside your home. Indeed, carpet fibers can trap dust, dirt, and pet hair so tightly that vacuuming alone will not get the carpet clean. In the long term, the fibers become thin and worn out, affecting the look and feel of your carpet.

Traditional hard flooring options such as hardwood and tiles are easier to maintain. However, they are more prone to damage through stains or impact.

It is best to switch to hard residential flooring alternatives that are easy to maintain, stain-resistant, and highly durable, such as epoxy flooring.

Choose washable wall décor

There is nothing more frustrating than spotting a stain on the wall. Kitchen and bathroom walls are more prone to stains as you often handle liquids near them. Regardless of whether it is a drop of tomato sauce or foundation liquid, it’s not going to be easy to remove. Why? Because typical paint washes off when you use a sponge.

Therefore, it can be a fantastic idea to rethink your wall paint. You can find washable paints available in DIY stores. The paint is typically designed to sustain humidity, water exposure, and steam too, making it a perfect choice for bathroom and kitchen decors.

Invest in smart technology

Roomba has been a long favorite in American households. The smart vacuum cleaner can get to work when you’re busy. Thanks to its low design, the device can also clean underneath furniture.

Roomba is one of the many smart cleaning devices available for the household, so you can find gadgets to fit most budgets.

Most smart vacuums can also connect to your smart hub at home. So, you can easily ask Alexa to sort out all vacuuming needs while you are outside the house.

Other neat additions for a clean interior include:

  • An air purifier that can capture dust and allergens in the air
  • An air humidifier as dry rooms can affect your sinuses and
  • A programmable washing machine (most of them already are)

Hopefully, these few ideas can help you reclaim your interior and ban clutter and dust for good! It makes no doubt that running a tight household when you’re busy can be tough. So, investing in home upgrades that make everything more manageable is a game-changer.
