We are getting really excited about Christmas! Squeaker turned 3 on December 5th but we’ve been in Christmas mode for awhile now. This is the first year that she’s really starting to understand what’s going on. We are using this time to learn more about Jesus Christ as well as Santa Claus. Sometimes I do have to wonder how much of this really sticks with her but she surprises me daily! We’re also using this time of the year to work on preschool readiness skills. After putting together the St. Patrick’s Day sensory bin, which was then re-purposedĀ  for an Easter sensory bin, I realized that the buttons that we bought had a lot of potential. How so? Well, I got the idea after Squeaker kept trying to go after the package. She was fascinated with the shape and size, so I thought why not capitalize on her curiosity and use button play for fine motor skills development. Afterschooling with Sweet B: All About the Letter A I wanted to share with you, one of our afterschooling sessions now that we have most of the components in place. Last week, Sweet B was off from school for February break so I thought we could try some of her afterschooling stuff during the day instead. Prior to this we had only been using a simple system that wasn’t really formal or had a set routine. Now, of course, it’s a matter of integrating the afterschooling activities throughout the week in their correct time. But, the premise is the same when we did this over the course of last week.
