Windows

If you have started to notice a draft going through the entirety of your home, even when the heating is on then you may have holes in your windows. Run your hands along the seals of your windows and see if you can feel anything. You will most likely be able to feel the draft coming in from tiny little holes. You can of course seal these up but there is only so many times you can do this. Sometimes it can be much better to invest in brand new windows, you will need a whole set of windows as you don’t want them to be mismatched. Speak to a window company that comes recommended to see what they can do for you. They will likely come out and provide you with a free, no obligation quote.

New Kitchen

Everyone dreams of a brand new kitchen, if this is also you then think about what you want this dream kitchen to look like. Renovating your kitchen can take time, preparation, and money. It is something you don’t want to get wrong as you want to enjoy spending time in your new kitchen. Head to your local kitchen showroom where you can get a greater understanding of which designs you like best. If your kitchen is big enough then you might want to include an island. These are fantastic as they come with integrated appliances these days, giving you more room to play with on the kitchen sides.

Updated Flooring

Flooring can take the brunt of everyday life and can quickly become worn and tired looking. There will be areas within your home where the foot traffic is high, if you have carpet this will be far more noticeable. There are pros and cons to each type of flooring available, for instance carpet can be much warmer but incredibly hard to keep clean. Hardwood flooring while being the easiest type to clean won’t retain heat as well as carpet. You can overcome this issue by investing in a thick, warm rug.

Install AC

There is one thing that you will most definitely want to be installed by the time summer hits, and that’s air conditioning. AC can make your life a hell of a lot easier and certainly more comfortable as you won’t be sweating in your own home. While fans and portable AC machines are cheaper, they aren’t necessarily better for your health or wallet in the long run. Check out the pros and cons of each one and decide which one to go for. If you opt for built in AC then you will need to find a reputable company to come and install it for you.

Declutter

Something else you need to do is declutter your home. If you are planning to renovate in the summer then you don’t want all your bits and bobs laying around that don’t have a place to call home.
