The American Academy of Pediatrics says that: Playing is an effective way for children to learn how to work together in groups, to give and take, and to resolve conflicts. Free play also encourages decision making, an essential life skill. Even though it may not seem like it, kids really do learn a lot through playing. And for kids, playing really is serious business.
