We are getting really excited about Christmas! Squeaker turned 3 on December 5th but we’ve been in Christmas mode for awhile now. This is the first year that she’s really starting to understand what’s going on. We are using this time to learn more about Jesus Christ as well as Santa Claus. Sometimes I do have to wonder how much of this really sticks with her but she surprises me daily! We’re also using this time of the year to work on preschool readiness skills. As we have our informal tot school, and by informal I mean we do a fair amount of free play, learning through play, pretend play, reading books, arts and crafts; sometimes I’ll try to sneak in a learning activity. But those learning activities are also play based, or at least have some element of play in them. I want to keep it simple enough for Squeaker and yet still with an element of challenge so she’s working on her skills. Simple Sensory Play: Letter A Sensory Play

I enjoy any simple sensory play ideas and by simple sensory play, I mean 5 ingredients or less with minimal prep and clean up. Of course I can dream but it’s wonderful when I come across play ideas like that. And this all stemmed from my making avocado and banana muffins.
