Recently we had the opportunity to spread the love with Huggies and nominate a community initiative of our choice through their #UltraHug campaign. It was incredibly simple to participate and I hope that you will too! All you have to do is take a selfie that also includes your baby and upload it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #UltraHug. Then visit Huggies to let them know that you did it and tell them about the community initiative that you’re nominating and why they deserve an #UltraHug from Huggies.
Spread the Love with Huggies
Squeaker does enjoy having her picture taken and she’s usually pretty good about taking a selfie with me. Most of the time she’ll look at the camera and smile, so getting that part done was easy.
The hard part was figuring out which community project to nominate for the campaign. From local parks to state parks and just about everything in between, the Capital District has a lot to offer to it’s residents. But the community initiative that’s closest to our hearts is Wildwood Foundation. They sponsor the school that Sweet B attends and they provide so much to those with autism and their families.
From the school to day habilitation services and so much more, Wildwood helps to provide the support and resources that families desperately need.
We started with Wildwood when Sweet B was 5, she had been in another program prior to that but we were on the waiting list for Kindergarten at Wildwood. Our IEP chairperson had determined that it would be the best fit for her and after we had taken a tour of the facility, we agreed.
The difference in Sweet B has been noticeable since she started at Wildwood those 8 years ago and I know that she’ll only continue to improve and grow. They’ve also been incredibly useful in terms of providing support and answering the numerous questions that I have.
Wildwood Programs was created in 1967 when a group of parents found that their children did not fit neatly into existing programs. What began as a program for a handful of pre-schoolers has grown into an organization that provides comprehensive supports and services to well over 1,000 people and their families every year.
From the child struggling in school with a complex learning disability; to the adolescent with autism trying to navigate his or her social world; to the adult with a developmental disability; to the family doing everything they can to support their child with a disability, Wildwood Programs helps people grow.
Rather than developing programs based on labels or diagnoses, Wildwood has developed supports and services based on each person’s characteristics, likes, dislikes and unique personality. Wildwood partners with families and offers supports and services that are individualized and tailored in a comprehensive way for each person.
If you know of a community program in your own community, I would encourage you to nominate them today.
From April 20th until June 25th, Huggies will be accepting all selfies of you and your baby with the hashtag #UltraHug, and featuring them in a collage on the campaign landing page. On July 6th, voting will begin to narrow down the 20 finalists to 10 winners who will win a $2,000 grant from Huggies for their nominated community initiative.
How to Enter the #UltraHug Selfie Contest

So how was our experience?
We really enjoyed using these diapers with Squeaker. They fit her very nicely and didn’t cut into her thighs as some other diapers have. She was able to move around freely and without restriction- whether it was climbing the stairs or dancing in front of the bathroom mirror. Overall we had a great experience with these diapers and would definitely recommend them to any family considering a new diaper to try. She wear a size 4 and these fit her very well.
