Save Time on Travel Planning or a Staycation with Vimbly
Sometimes figuring out what to do can be overwhelming and time consuming. Or maybe you’ve just moved to a new city or are nearby a major city and would like to start exploring, but you just don’t know where to start. Vimbly– the new and fun way to search for activities. Vimbly lets you search for activities (both kid friendly and just for grown ups) in your city with the click of a button and a few search terms. Whether you’re planning a visit or want to explore the offerings in your city, let Vimbly be your guide!
Being in Albany means that I’m pretty close to a few major cities (Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, and NYC are all within 3-4 hours driving distance) and when I went to Vimbly to check out what they offered, I was presented with NYC activities. Which is great because it’s definitely possible to do a day trip or weekend getaway to NYC.
But what exactly do we do?
When I’m planning a trip, I want to check out the fun stuff (and free stuff) that I can do with Kyle and with the kids. We want to make sure that the entire family is going to find something to do while we’re there because really, what’s the point of going to a big city if you’re not going to explore? Though I still do love my travel guides, I’m also very much aware that with the age of the internet and apps, it’s also getting easier to plan out your trip online or through your smartphone.
Vimbly helps you plan out your activities by giving you a selection of things to do by showing you categories to select from. Or, you can perform a general search. Below is the kids version of the NYC page:
With just a few clicks of the mouse or a search word or two and you’re on your way to finding a fun activity.
I explored the playtime category for NYC kids and was pleased to see that they show you both free and paid activities. With the kids activities, they also let you search for activities by age group. So, with this particular search I was looking for activities for kids ages 0 to 4.
But you’re not just limited to NYC with Vimbly when it comes to activities and things to do for adults:
They also cover major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Orlando, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. I love this as well because we’re hopefully going to be heading to the SF Bay Area in the summer and now I know that I can use Vimbly to help me plan part of our trip.
And if you’re unsure of where to start, take the Vimbly quiz:
By answering a few short questions, Vimbly will send you a suggested list of activities based on your likes and interests.
Registering at Vimbly is free and doesn’t take much time at all. Within minutes you’ll be searching for activities to save to your bucket list or to try for yourself. And if you’re still looking for ideas, Vimbly also offers a city guide on their website.
And if you don’t see your city listed, Vimbly has plans to expand their offerings nationwide throughout 2015.
Mom’s Bottom Line:
Vimbly takes the guesswork out of planning a vacation or staycation by offering a convenient search platform to search for activities and things to do. Whether you’re planning a date night, a weekend getaway, or planning for a longer stay- use Vimbly to assist you. From taking cooking classes to art lessons to fitness activities, to just about everything in between- Vimbly is here to help. I love how user friendly Vimbly is and will definitely start there when I’m planning our next vacation.
