If you’ve been here in the past, then perhaps you know that my autistic daughter has wandered from home. Not once, but twice. Once when she was younger and then again several years later. And while this hasn’t occurred since, it’s still one of my biggest concerns. And of many things that interferes with my getting a restful night of sleep. With my thanks to Iris by Lowe’s for sponsoring this conversation, I want to share with you one simple step to better home security (so you can get a more restful night of sleep).

But wait Kori – you can’t be serious. One little box really makes that much of a difference?

Yes, I am totally serious.

And I did say that it was one simple step, right? That one simple step involved installing an Iris by Lowe’s home security system.

Believe me when I say- it was easy. And simple.

Trust me, if I can set this up- anyone can set this up. It’s as simple as installing an app on your smartphone and going from there.

Really.

But why choose this?

Because it was simple and it was easy to set up.

That, and the underlying fear is still there. I can still feel the panic rising in my chest when I realized my daughter was missing. I can still, very vividly, remember the sight of the open door and the implications behind it.

The fear is still there and it is still very real.

Real enough to keep me up at night.

Real enough to keep me from falling into a deep sleep.

Every single sound, especially coming from the direction of her room, sends me into panic mode.

Every single noise, especially near the top of the stairs, has me on alert.

It’s happened twice before now, after all, who’s to say that it couldn’t happen again?

That’s why I knew we needed a solution. And a reliable, easy to set up solution that wasn’t going to break our family budget.

Iris by Lowe’s met those needs.

  • This is a security solution that delivers all of the benefits of a professional monitoring system without locking you into a long-term contract.
  • It’s an affordable solution with plans starting as low as $14.95 a month
  • It’s easy to set up and can be managed from one single app on your smartphone

Want to try Iris by Lowe’s for yourself?

Use code: MYIRISSECURITY (in all caps) to receive 10% off Iris starter packs and hubs. This offer is valid from 5/30-6/29

This security solution is now my added peace of mind.

The front door?

Secured and alerts are sent without issue. We had to adjust the height so the sensors would line up properly but it’s working like a dream now.

And for my daughter’s bedroom door?

The glass break monitor will likely go on the back porch and we’re trying to figure out the best height placement for the motion sensor. That one, however, will also be placed near my daughter’s bedroom door.

But now?

I can have a more restful sleep because we have a solution in place.

A solution that fits our budget and meets our security needs.

Have you heard of Iris by Lowe’s? How would this system help you and your family?
