Indoor Hopscotch Fueled by #MilkLife

Yesterday was International Children’s Day and I wanted to get outside with Squeaker to teach her how to play hopscotch… Or, at the very least, show her what it was like and give our neighborhood an invitation to play. But, the weather didn’t cooperate at all, so we held off. Today, unfortunately, wasn’t much better but I still wanted to play hopscotch with her which also happened to be Challenge #22 from Milk Life. So instead, we took the game indoors and had a lot of fun in the process! First things first, we had to create our numbers. And while we would normally use sidewalk chalk for this process, instead I used pieces of card stock and crayons. While I made the number cards,…

Summer Bubble Fun Ideas

With summer just around the corner, we’re searching for fun ideas to keep us outdoors. For us that means water play and bubbles. Squeaker is just starting to be interested in bubbles, so I’m planning a ton of summer bubble fun ideas for her to enjoy while Sweet B is away at day camp. But the fun won’t stop there, of course, because I know that Sweet B will want to participate too. I love bubble play because it’s sensory, fun, and easy. 10 Things To Do While Catching Bubbles via Kids Activities Blog Play With Bubbles via Fireflies and Mudpies Rainbow Foam Soap Bubbles via Fun At Home With Kids Scooping Shapes Bubble Water Play via Fantastic Fun and Learning 5 Simple Bubble Solution…

Ultimate Olaf Gift Guide

I have a confession- I love Olaf. Yes, Olaf the Snowman from Frozen. Squeaker is a fan too, though we try not to watch the full movie often. Mostly we just look on YouTube for Olaf clips. She does have a few Olaf toys so I thought- why not create an ultimate Olaf gift guide? I’m also going to include a few free resources in here because everyone loves free, right? This gift guide includes suggestions for adults too, but is mostly geared towards kids… or kids at heart, like myself. 50 Things To Do In Summer

With Summer quickly approaching, and the end of school in sight for most in the United States, it’s time to start thinking of more frugal family fun ideas. I started thinking of stuff that our family enjoys doing now or stuff that I did as a child with my family. Other things on this list were inspired by things that happen in summer. What I ended up with was a list of 50 things to do in summer. I’m sure that I could have come up with more if I had really put my mind to it… but if I do, we’ll save that for another post. In the meantime, here’s my list of 50 things to do in summer and there’s also a free…

Top Ten Books for Young Toddlers

As Squeaker is getting older, we’re taking another look at our top books for babies. Squeaker will be 18 months old in June and that point, I might be comfortable with classifying her as a toddler. Right now I’d say she’s an older baby or younger toddler, so this post is going to focus on our top ten books for young toddlers. This post contains affiliate links and while you are under no obligation to use them, by purchasing something through my affiliate link you are supporting this site, thanks! Squeaker is read to daily, usually with her choice of books, but she’ll also play with her book collection regularly. Usually this means making up her own dialogue (babbling) or if it’s a book about…

Booking Across the USA: Sandra Boynton

We are happy to be participating in Booking Across the USA and the author that we chose to cover is Sandra Boynton. She hails from New Jersey so that’s the state that we’re representing even though we live in New York. There are several reasons that we chose Sandra Boynton and we’ll also have a list of our favorite books and a mini printable pack for you. Sandra Boynton was a favorite of mine as a child- I loved But Not The Hippopotamus and I remember having a few stuffed Boynton animals (an elephant for me and a hippo for my mom). So the fact that I can now share this love of Boynton books with Squeaker is great. About Sandra Boynton Sandra Boynton was…
